I tagged along with my girlfriend
to see a movie by the singer Lim Hyunsik (of the K-pop group BTOB).
It was a truly artistic story.
To make a music video,
he learned to dive,
traveled to a faraway country,
and played guitar under the sea.
Loving the ocean, space, and music
is the story he and his fans share.
For me it was about a 4 out of 5.
The next day, when I mentioned it at work,
people laughed and said it was weird.
That's exactly why this film is art.
Anything truly great as art
is inevitably followed by ridicule.
Every bestseller has one-star reviews,
and no blockbuster satisfies everyone.
Not fearing ridicule,
and gladly diving in to make
what is a 5 out of 5 to yourself and your fans:
that is the stance of a true artist.
